Tournament events marked "placeholder" are representative of the USSSA and Triple Crown weekends we target across the Pacific Northwest. Final selections depend on roster readiness.

Attendance & availability
We ask for strong attendance, but we know life happens. Our roster is built with 12 players on purpose so one or two absences in a given week don't put pressure on any single family. Give Coach Baines a heads-up as early as you can. See About for more on our roster philosophy.
Practice schedule
Team practices run Tuesdays and Thursdays through September — sessions are underway. All practice dates are subject to weather; cancellations or moves are communicated by 3:00 PM the day of.

First Scrimmage — Early August
The Steelheads' inaugural scrimmage lands the first week of August. It's our first look at the roster in game action — a chance for the guys to compete under real conditions before the fall slate begins.
Opponent, field, and start time will be announced by email and posted here once confirmed. Date TBD.
Batting cage practice — reservation required
Indoor cage work happens twice a month on a Wednesday and a Sunday. Space is tight — we can only fit 6 players per session, so spots are reserved on a first-come basis. Players who don't get a spot one cycle get priority the next.
Cage session dates are released 30 days in advance and registration opens at that point. Watch your email or check this page each month.
How often
Two cage sessions each month — one Wednesday evening, one Sunday. Dates are posted here and emailed to families 30 days before each session, which is also when registration opens.
How many players
6 slots only per session. We rotate to make sure every player gets cage reps across the month.
How to reserve
Reply to the cage-session announcement email, or text Coach Baines at 253-444-7435. Confirmations go out 48 hours before each session.
If you can't make a session you reserved, please let Coach Baines know as soon as possible so we can offer the spot to the next player on the list.
Travel that respects your weekend
Most events are within a couple hours of Tacoma. We share full schedules, hotel info, and field directions with families well ahead of every tournament.

Regional fields across the South Sound and Pacific Northwest — Tacoma, Everett, Seattle, Vancouver WA, and the Portland metro.
How many events
A development-appropriate slate for 9U — enough competition to grow, with rest built in to protect young arms.
